We are currently seeking a VDI Systems Engineer to support operations in Stuttgart, Germany. This is a full-time, OCONUS position requiring an active DoD Secret clearance, eligibility for NATO Indoctrination and TESA accreditation, other requirements.

What You’ll Do
As a VDI Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting classified and unclassified DoD/NATO environment s, that serve U.S. government missions overseas,
You will:
Manage and support complex, multi-site VDI environments across multiple enclaves
Support VDI infrastructure in both classified and unclassified domains
Ensure VDI systems meet security, compliance, and operational requirements
Develop new VDI capabilities and infrastructure
Repurpose and adapt existing VDI capabilities to meet new mission requirements
Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of VDI infrastructure
Provide Tier 3 support for complex end-user and system issues
Track and monitor VDI licensing usage and consumption
Recommend additional licensing and support contracts as needed
Follow and operate within established processes and procedures
Provide technical guidance and direction to other personnel within the assigned area of responsibility
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +7 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized experience
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop/Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment requiring coordination and collaboration
- Experience interfacing with client managers and end users
Ability to refine, develop, and maintain VDI environments to ensure stability and compliance with standards
- Ability to serve as a VDI subject matter expert (SME) and support project work as requested
- Willingness and ability to provide remote support
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as required
Certifications:
- Citrix Certified Professional (CCP-V)
- CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater)
- Must have a current and active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
Preferred (Nice to Have):
ITIL v3 or v4 – Foundation
Experience with Citrix licensing
Experience with Microsoft licensing as it pertains to VDI environments
Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs
Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
Experience with DoD IT security requirements
Experience managing Citrix Netscaler/ADC load balancing
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
Experience in the evaluation and integration of new technologies into existing environments
Demonstrated background troubleshooting complex IT issues
Travel & Passport
Some overnight stays possible.
Must have an active passport to support OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.
Work Environment
Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
Office setting:
Primarily an office-based role in Stuttgart, Germany
Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
