We are currently seeking a Database Administrator to support operations in Lexington, KY. This position is contingent upon contract award with an expected award date of December 2025. This is a full-time, CONUS position requiring an active DoD Secret clearance.

What You’ll Do
As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Mission’s operational effectiveness through the implementation, optimization, and secure management of database systems that support critical mission functions, that serve U.S. government missions on customer site. You will:
  • Database Implementation & Optimization
    • Deploy, optimize, and maintain computerized database systems to support mission-critical functions with high availability and performance.
    • Oversee the physical design and logical structure of databases, ensuring efficient data access and storage.
  • Performance Tuning & Monitoring
    • Conduct performance tuning across databases and indexes by analyzing usage metrics, query performance, and system load.
    • Continuously monitor system health and proactively mitigate bottlenecks to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Design & Integration Review
    • Evaluate database schemas, integration points, and new system proposals to ensure seamless compatibility and performance.
    • Provide recommendations for improvements to enhance data flow, usability, and system resilience.
  • Backup, Recovery & High Availability
    • Implement, schedule, and validate comprehensive backup strategies, including transaction logs and offsite redundancy.
    • Test recovery procedures regularly and manage replication setups, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Security, Integrity & Access Control
    • Maintain database security through access controls, encryption, and regular audits.
    • Safeguard data integrity by enforcing constraints, triggers, and validation protocols.
  • Policy Development & Standards
    • Create, enforce, and refine policies, procedures, and best practices governing database management, usage, and governance.
    • Monitor system utilization and transactions to inform policy adjustments and performance management.
  • Stored Procedures, Triggers & Scripting
    • Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and scripts to automate common tasks and enforce business logic.
    • Collaborate with developers to optimize scripts and procedures for performance and maintainability.
  • Database Administration Across Multiple Systems
    • Administer diverse DBMS platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), including installation, patching, upgrades, and configuration.
    • Execute administrative tasks such as replication, transaction log management, and cross-site synchronization.
  • Project Scheduling & Coordination
    • Manage timelines for database-related projects including backups, replication setups, schema changes, and maintenance windows.
    • Coordinate notifications and replication tasks between SQL Servers across multiple sites to ensure consistency and minimize disruption.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • BA/BS + 7 years of relevant experience, or ________
    • Major technical certification + ___ years, or ______
    • ___ years of hands-on experience
    • ___ years of related experience, showing growth
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong experience in working closely with the Management Information Systems (MIS) team and outside users, providing expert-level database administration services and leveraging specialized knowledge to enhance accuracy and drive results.
    • Knowledge in/with
    • Experience with analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems for property and maintenance management and diverse range of companies.
    • Experience in database performance tuning, capacity planning, security management, data accuracy assurance, and data recovery.
    • Proving after-hours support for database break/fix sustainment to ensure databases are always operational outside of scheduled outages.
    • Experience in all hardware and software planned maintenance actions planned as part of a scheduled maintenance are completed within the allotted time.
  • Certifications:
    • DOD 8570-01M certification, IAT Level II or better (e.g. Security+ CE).
  • Must have a current and active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
Work EnvironmentOffice setting:
  • Primarily an office-based role in Lexington, KY.
  • Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
  • Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  • Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
  • May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
