We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to support operations in Vaihingen, Germany. This is a full-time, OCONUS position requiring an active DoD Secret clearance, eligibility for NATO Indoctrination and TESA accreditation, other requirements.

What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting Combatant Command that serve U.S. government missions overseas. You will:
Collaborate as a member of a self-organizing Agile software engineering team
Design, develop, test, and refine applications to meet stakeholder requirements
Build and integrate ASP.NET applications and .NET web services within the Theater Security Cooperation architecture
Develop custom standalone applications and system enhancements
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects
Contribute to continuous process improvement and best practice reviews
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS + 5 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 9 years of recent specialized experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in an Applications Development role.
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including peer review, QA testing, and security hardening
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills; ability to work in an open work environment
- Strong understanding of fundamental web technologies: HTTP, ReST, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML
- Strong understanding of advanced web development technologies: .NET Framework, Angular, React, TypeScript, C#, SCSS, SQL/NoSQL databases, Web Services (ReST/SOAP)
- Experience with version control systems: Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
Certifications:
- IAT Level II certification(s) in accordance with DoD 8570.1
- Microsoft Certification in Application Development or comparable computing environment certification
- Must have a current and active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
Preferred (Nice to Have):
Experience with Agile (preferably SCRUM) development environment
Knowledge/experience working within Combatant Commands or military environments
Experience in cross-functional teams with T-shaped developers, self-organizing to achieve customer goals
Experience with DevSecOps practices and technologies: pre-commit hooks, YAML-based pipelines, CI/CD, pull requests, merges, hotfixes
Experience with complex systems/organizations, portals, enterprise content management, and business intelligence
Experience developing applications using design principles: adaptive design, responsive design, graceful degradation, progressive enhancement
Involvement in developer communities; active participation in forums or channels
Travel & Passport
Travel ability up to 10%. Some overnight stays possible.
Must have an active passport to support OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.
Work Environment
Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
Office setting:
Primarily an office-based role in Vaihingen, Germany
Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
