We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to support operations in Vienna, VA. This is a full-time CONUS position.
The base salary range for this role is $52,665.00 to $87,000.00 annually, depending on geographic location and experience. The final offer will be based on relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.

What You’ll Do
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the Cambridge corporate office. This role falls under Billing Coordinator within our compensation framework. This position reports to Accounting Director. You will:
- Leverage Costpoint daily to drive end-to-end Accounts Receivable and revenue cycle management—overseeing accurate project-based billings, proactively managing invoice collections, tracking aging schedules, and resolving complex billing disputes with speed and precision.
- Beyond day-to-day transaction processing, you will own month-end close reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and perform variance and labor/indirect rate analyses directly within the system to ensure compliance and financial visibility.
- Must operate with an analytical eye for spotting cash-flow bottlenecks, and possesses advanced Costpoint navigation skills alongside strong Excel modeling capabilities and professional client communication. Will need to be familiar with multiple billing sites like Wide Area Workflow and multiple contract types line T&M, FFP and Cost Plus.
Required Qualifications:
Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong experience Candidates should possess a working knowledge of U.S. Government (USG) contract accounting principles, including familiarity with FAR/CAS compliance, common contract types (CPFF, T&M, FFP), and indirect rate structures.
- Detailed-oriented General Accountant with at least 5 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience and deep, hands-on expertise in Deltek Costpoint to anchor our core financial and project-accounting workflows.
- Key areas of expertise, at a minimum: strong proficiency in Excel, understanding of the FAR and defense contracting.

- Communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders through verbal and written methods.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work under deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Interaction with others in dynamic environments, including situations requiring problem-solving and conflict resolution.
