Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time VDI Systems Engineer opportunity available based in Stuttgart, Germany.  

Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance and be eligible for DoD Top Secret clearance, NATO Indoctrination, and meet TESA accreditation requirements.  ***TESA Certification allows employees the to be tax exempt for both Germany and US, in addition to other great perks***

ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES

VDI Systems Engineers require extensive experience with managing complex and robust VDI implementations spanning several sites and enclaves in support of a dynamic customer with evolving needs. VDI Systems Engineers support infrastructure in both unclassified and classified domains, navigate several different procedural and process driven disciplines to deliver a product that is robust and compliant with the required security and operational mandates.  This can include development of new capabilities and infrastructure as well as repurposing current capabilities to achieve new mandates. Responsibilities also include day to day monitoring and maintenance of current infrastructure as well as providing Tier 3 support for end user issues as requested, monitoring of licensing consumption and usage, and making recommendations for additional licensing and/or support contracts.  May also provide work guidance and direction to others regarding assets within the assigned area of responsibility.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner.  The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts.  The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.
Continue to refine and develop the VDI environment to ensure stability and continued operation and alignment with required standards.  Work with other teams as a subject matter expert for VDI specific components of projects as requested.
Additionally, the VDI Systems Engineer will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required. 

  • Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to maintain
  • BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +7 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized experience
  • Extensive knowledge of VDI environments and the continued operation of a large scale VDI deployment
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop/Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
  • Citrix Certified Professional (CCP-V)
    • CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater)
  • Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ITIL v3 or v4 – Foundation
  • Experience with Citrix licensing
  • Experience with Microsoft licensing as it pertains to VDI environments
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
  • Experience with DoD IT security requirements
  • Experience managing Citrix Netscaler/ADC load balancing
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
  • Experience in the evaluation and integration of new technologies into existing environments
  • Demonstrated background troubleshooting complex IT issues
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Active Passport.
  • In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

Office setting:
  • Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  • Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
  • May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
