We are currently seeking an Exploitation Analyst to support operations in Norfolk, VA. This is a full-time position requiring an active DoD TS clearance.
This position is contingent upon contract award with an expected award date of January 2026.
What You’ll Do
- Lead cyber test planning and execution support as a subject matter expert (SME) in cyberspace operations.
- Analyze system architecture and documentation to identify test entry points and develop red team objectives.
- Coordinate closely with red team operators and government stakeholders to ensure test objectives are achievable, traceable, and clearly defined.
- Conduct and lead cyber OT&E-related test events, including cooperative vulnerability and adversarial assessments.
- Support the Cyber Survivability Test Planning Course and help update training materials, templates, and SOPs.
- Ensure pre-test, execution, and post-test planning documentation is accurate and aligned to OPTEVFOR policy.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, in-briefs, daily hotwashes, and final deliverables including data analysis summaries.
- Participate in and support working groups, technical exchanges, and OT&E meetings as assigned.
- Collaborate with system owners, OTDs, and program SMEs to ensure successful and compliant test execution.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related technical degree OR minimum 5 years’ experience in DoD defensive or offensive cyberspace operations planning or exploitation analysis
- Demonstrated ability to reverse engineer, exploit, or emulate real-world cyber threats across networked and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with cyber survivability concepts, test resource planning, and system vulnerability evaluation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (MS Visio, Project, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Ability to perform detail-oriented work quality assurance/quality control prior to delivery to the government.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills to support briefing senior leadership (O6/GS-15 or higher)
Must have a current and active DoD TS security clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI clearance.
Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Familiarity with DoD cyber OT&E policy, procedures, and Red Team test integration.
- Proficiency with exploitation frameworks and vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Metasploit, Cobalt Strike).
- Hands on experience performing vulnerability research or developing proof-of-concept exploits.
- Knowledge of threat vectors, vulnerability exploitation strategies, and mission risk evaluation.
- Understanding of DCWF Work Role 121 responsibilities and cybersecurity assessment workflows.
- Experience leading validation or exploitation events under RMF/NIST 800-53 security frameworks.
- Knowledge of virtualized, cloud-based systems, network protocols, firewalls, and perimeter defense.
- Ability to coordinate across stakeholder groups and drive cyber test planning forward independently.
Travel & Passport
Some overnight stays possible.
Work Environment
Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
Office setting:
Primarily an office-based role in Norfolk, VA
Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site
Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
